There has been a lot of question over the years about celebrating Christmas. Should we just celebrate His birth? Should we exchange gifts? Is it ok to put up Christmas trees in our home? What about the church? Is Santa real?
Should we let kids take pictures with Santa Clause? So many questions. And being your pastor, I want to lead you in the right direction. I feel like I received some clarity this week.
In fact, I found Santa Clause mentioned in the Bible.
Zechariah 2:6 (KJV)
6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord….
We are often mistaken to believe that the Christmas story begins the moment that Gabriel visits Mary in Nazareth, a village in Galilee. Yes, this is definitely a highlight, but truth be told, the real Christmas story begins in Luke 1:5 when Gabriel visited while Zechariah was serving God in the Temple burning incense.
