Jail Ministries

Woodlawn’s local jail ministry is one committed to extending hope and power of Christ’s gospel to those behind bars, on probation, or on parole in the local criminal justice system, as well as their families.

  • Do you have a friend or loved one who is incarcerated?
  • Do you have a burden for the incarcerated men and women in your community?

Through our local jail ministry, in collaboration with Christian Prisoner Fellowship (CPF), you can contact a network of licensed CPF chaplains trained and dedicated to reaching your friends, family, and those in your community behind bars or in transitional living situations. Or, if you have a vision to serve in this ministry, we can equip and empower you to be involved. For more information, please call our office at 601 736-5128

Woodlawn Thrift Store

The Woodlawn Thrift Store is a ministry which provides affordable clothing, household items, and furniture to low and middle income families.  Proceeds gained by the Thrift Store support the various Restore Ministries.  This ministry provides an opportunity for the community to come together to provide for the needs of its people. The Thrift Store is staffed with members of Woodlawn who have a passion for serving and reaching out to others. You can contact the thrift store at 601-424-3577

Woodlawn Life Skills

The objective of our life skills classes is to cultivate a spiritual environment to further develop individuals of integrity.  The classes given at Restore include parenting, alcohol and drug classes, anger management classes, and other life skills classes.  Our classes have served as life skills resources for local agencies for the past 17 years and have a higher success rate in the number of participant completion than any other local program.  Through teaching, counseling and caring, our life skills resources embrace the biblical mandate for helping others in our community to center their lives on Christ.

Meals on Wheels

Woodlawn Church in cooperation with Christian Services, Inc of Hattiesburg, MS, provides hot nutritious noon meals to our church members and friends who are homebound.  78,682 meals were delivered through Meals on Wheels in 2014. If you would like to volunteer to deliver meals, please call our office at 601 736-5128.   For more information please click the link below.
